I have to admit I bought this on whim. I expected it to sound alot like those FM Transmitters you buy for an iPod. boy was I wrong!! This little box sounds like a symphony!!! They say the range is 100 feet but it goes well beyond that. Set up was as simple as plugging in a usb dongle and hitting power! It also has a dock for my iPhone/iPod that charges while I listen! I cannot believe how amazing this little speaker really is. Also, you don’t realize how tied down you are by cables until you go wireless. Yesterday I was in the backyard building a dog house (don’t ask) and I had my mint playing some “Stones” right next to me! All being run from my iItunes on my laptop in the house 50 feet away!! I recomend this for anyone who like listening to anything! I couldn’t find any significant drawbacks so far. this little puppy is a must for everyone with a laptop computer!

The Mint is one of the best things I’ve ever purchased. I went into Best Buy to get some run of the mill 2.1 speakers for my laptop, but bought this instead on a whim (seems to be a pattern) as an open box buy for $37.99 because it was the floor model and had some scratches and dings. It was unplugged and couldn’t even be tested in the store, but it came with all the stuff except the box, so I figured, what the heck? Bottom line: OMG. It’s just so awesome.
Sound:
The sound is marvelous, crystal clear, as though my computer were hooked up via wires to a conventional high-end speaker system. The bass is deep (especially considering there’s no separate subwoofer), the mids are clear, the treble sounds great. It has a built in EQ setting that you can turn on or off and I recommend you use it as it sets the levels perfectly. Panning effects come thru as intended, as well. I watched a dvd on my computer and had the sound coming out of this thing and there was even an impressive simulated surround effect, though the system isn’t necessarily intended for that, I think. It’s loud enough, too, with no real distortion, even at the highest volume level. I went outside and I could still hear it in my backyard. It was muffled of course, since I was outside, but I could still hear it well enough to make out the lyrics to the song I had playing.
Streaming:
Streaming is perfect, absolutely no delay. To test the wireless capability, I went into another room and shut the door and there was no effect on the streaming whatsoever.
iPhone/iPod and Remote Control:
I stuck my iPhone 3G into the integrated iPod dock and of course, it warned me that this accessory was not made to work with iPhone, but no matter. It not only worked (i.e., played songs from iTunes and Pandora), it also charged the phone, and the remote totally works with iTunes. You can’t go between playlists, but once you’re in a playlist, you can forward to the next song, go back to the previous song, pause/play — all via the remote. The remote also worked fine from my kitchen, about 20 feet away (direct line of sight) from the unit.
Setup:
I was especially impressed by the simplicity of setup. The Mint is compact and all in one, but comes with a handy, easy to use remote and a flash-drive sized USB transmitter. So, all I did was plug it in, turn it on, stick the USB thingy into a port on my computer, and that was it! All of the sound from my computer now played out of the Mint. Seriously, it was exactly that easy.
Summary:
After experiencing the Mint in action, I think whoever priced this open box buy must’ve been on crack. Even with the superficial scratches and dings, I got it for a steal. But whatevs! It’s mine now!!!
I totally, totally recommend this product.

Trust me!
Don’t look anymore!
I spent almost a month trying to find the best wireless speaker for my laptop, and this is it. Here is a list of some of my mistakes.
First:
and the review was not impressive.
Audio Unlimited was the first wireless speaker to grab my attention. But I found it was a 900MHz solution, which is pretty outdated
Second:
I found the Bose SoundLink system which looked great and seemed to meet all my expectations. But it had a $549.95 price tag… Also the reviews seemed to say that you can only browse online wirelessly or listen to your speakers wirelessly…never at the same time!! I need my Pandora!!! Off to another solution…
So I searched for the similar speaker with the better price.
I found the Mint Studio Speaker from their Mint Wireless Audio website. It’s almost identical to Bose but comes at a fraction of the price!. It sounded too good to be true…
So obviously I suspected the quality of the Mint speaker. But after long hours of reading reviews on Gizmodo, cNet, engadget, and here on Amazon, I finally decided to give it a try.
Conclusion:
Wow! All my research paid off. This truly is an amazing little speaker! No more constrictive headphones… or whispering laptop speakers. The only real drawback I can find is that it collects fingerprints on the black plastic casing. (nothing a Handi-wipe won’t fix) Now I listen to everything through my Mint. iTunes, Netflix, iPod, Hulu, Youtube…and of course, Pandora! They all sound great now. Finally, I got what I wanted but didn’t have to take out a 2nd mortgage to buy it! I highly recommend this product to anyone who loves listening to music or watching movies from their laptop.

I really like the look of this speaker/dock. It’s very sharp & pretty compact. It was packaged very securely & it was really easy to set up & get started. I glanced at the instructions but I don’t think I truly needed too. It’s a pretty basic set-up & the ease of use is great.
Having said all of those nice things I really hate to say it but the sound wasn’t that great in my opinion. I had really high hopes for the sound quality after seeing everybody else rave about how great the sound is for them. It almost makes me wonder if I just have a messed up speaker/dock. Maybe I just got spoiled with the Philips docking system that I use because the sound is incredible out of that. This just doesn’t even come close to measuring up to that.
It would also be nice if you could just use this unit as a radio alone but you have to find a source wirelessly by using the USB transmitter.
Overall I like everything except the sound which is what’s the most important so unfortunately I don’t think I’d recommend this item.

I am very impressed with the Mint Studio Wireless PC/Mac Speaker with iPod dock. It far exceeded my expectations of an iPod docking station.
First, the wireless aspect is very nice (other than it does need to be plugged in for electricity!). There is no need to hook this up to your computer. It comes with a USB dongle that you plug into any open USB port on your computer or USB hub. After you hit the connect button the Mint now takes over the sound functions for you computer.
I found the sound quality to be very good and the construction of this to be rock solid compared to other iPod docks I’ve tried out. If you don’t want to use this as a wireless computer speaker, you can charge and play from your iPod on this speaker.
The size was also smaller than I was expecting, about 2/3 the size of a Squeezebox Boom, but that’s a good thing considering it still sounds great.
